Rotlichtviertel

A neighborhood with a high concentration of adult entertainment establishments and sex work infrastructure.

Auch bekannt als: Red Light District, Rotlichtbezirk

A red-light district is a neighborhood with a high concentration of salons, brothels, cabarets, and other sex industry establishments. In Switzerland, there are no red-light districts in the European tradition (such as Amsterdam’s De Wallen or Hamburg’s St. Pauli)—the sex industry is more spread out and discreet.

Swiss clusters: Zurich-Langstrasse, Geneva-Pâquis, Basel-Webergasse/Klybeck, the area around Bern-Kocherpark, Lugano-Pregassona.
