Patentbewilligung

A business license is the cantonal or municipal permit required to operate a salon, establishment, or massage parlor. Typical requirements include:

  • Personal suitability of the operator (no relevant criminal record)
  • Proof of fire safety, hygiene, and minimum standards
  • Location in a permitted zone (not a purely residential zone)
  • Proof of insurance
  • Plan for the protection of sex workers (emergency hotline, security)

The license is temporary (usually 5–10 years) and may be revoked in the event of violations (suspected human trafficking, illegal employment, fire safety deficiencies).
