Human trafficking under Article 182 of the Swiss Criminal Code (StGB) is the recruitment, transportation, or harboring of a person by exploiting a situation of distress for the purpose of sexual exploitation, labor exploitation, or organ removal. Penalty: Imprisonment for up to 20 years.

Anyone who suspects human trafficking (for example, involving sex workers who do not know their address, receive no money, or are controlled by third parties) can report it anonymously to FIZ Zurich (044 436 90 00) or ACT212 (0800 212 212).

Clients may also be liable to prosecution if they should have recognized a situation of duress and nevertheless used the services.
