AHV-Anmeldung

Mandatory registration with the cantonal compensation fund for any self-employed activity.

Auch bekannt als: AHV, Selbständig erwerbend

Anyone who is self-employed in Switzerland—including sex workers—must register with the cantonal AHV compensation office. Registration can be done online or in person, using a tax return form and, if applicable, accounting records.

Contributions: At least CHF 514/year (as of 2025), with additional amounts proportional to declared income. Optional coverage can be added for occupational and non-occupational accident insurance and daily sickness benefits.

Failure to register for AHV may result in back payments plus late fees; in old age, this could lead to receiving supplementary benefits instead of a personal pension. Counseling centers such as Xenia, Aspasie, and Lysistrada can assist with the initial registration.
