The revised Data Protection Act (revDSG, in effect since September 1, 2023) modernizes Swiss data protection and aligns it with the EU GDPR. Obligations for website operators (including sex workers with their own websites):
- Privacy policy with information on processing, purpose, and recipients
- Cookie banner for tracking/analytics
- Right of access for data subjects
- Mandatory reporting of high-risk data breaches
- Record of processing activities (simplified for SMEs)
Fines of up to CHF 250,000 (against the responsible person, not the company).
