Revised Swiss Data Protection Act, in force since September 1, 2023 - also applies to sex worker websites.

The revised Data Protection Act (revDSG, in force since September 1, 2023) modernizes Swiss data protection and aligns it with the EU GDPR. Obligations for website operators (including sex workers with their own website):

  • Data protection declarationwith information on processing, purpose, recipients
  • Cookie bannerfor tracking/analytics
  • Right to informationfor those affected
  • Reporting obligation in the event of high-risk data breaches
  • Processing directory (SME simplified)

Fines up to CHF 250,000 (against the responsible person, not the company).
