Revised Swiss Data Protection Act, in force since September 1, 2023 - also applies to sex worker websites.

The revised Data Protection Act (revDSG, in force since September 1, 2023) modernizes Swiss data protection and aligns it with the EU GDPR. Obligations for website operators (including sex workers with their own website):

  • Data protection declaration with information on processing, purpose, recipients
  • Cookie banner for tracking/analytics
  • Right to information for those affected
  • Reporting obligation in the event of high-risk data breaches
  • Processing directory (SMEs simplified)

Fines up to CHF 250,000 (against the responsible person, not the company).
