Swiss criminal law: soft pornography is permitted; hard pornography (animal pornography, violence, pornography involving minors) is prohibited.

Swiss criminal law (Art. 197 of the Swiss Criminal Code) distinguishes between soft and hard pornography:

  • Soft pornography (consensual adult sexuality) is permitted; making it available to persons under the age of 16 is a criminal offense.
  • Hardcore pornography (sex with minors, animals, or involving violence) is always a criminal offense—production, possession, and consumption.

For the adult industry (OnlyFans, cam, studio pornography), this means: age verification of all individuals depicted (clear-text ID + selfie + contract), no content featuring minors or scenes depicting violence, and a clear separation of production and distribution.
