The bombshell at the end: “Sex workers should use this tool!”
What at first sounds like a run-of-the-mill tech service for classified ad users and landlords turns out to be a small revolution for the Swiss adult entertainment industry: ContactGuard – a new platform from the Basel area – aims to protect online privacy with an encrypted service for WhatsApp. And the creators say it openly: Sex workers in particular should be able to use the tool so they don’t have to publish their number openly online and can work more professionally.
Why sex workers in particular?
The question is obvious: Why is a tech startup explicitly targeting this demographic?
“We want to consciously take a stand,” explains Geissmann, who launched his first successful projects in the adult content sector over 15 years ago and already runs ero-page.ch, an established web design agency for the adult entertainment industry. "It’s a highly regulated market if you want to operate on legally safe ground. And it’s still very common for other online services to enforce a ‘no-adult’ policy—or to charge absurdly high prices." We believe: Anyone who works independently—whether as an escort, dominatrix, or baker—has a right to secure, professional communication."
And then the decisive sentence: “We believe this ‘respectable’ facade is no longer appropriate and want to consciously take a stand against it.”
Is this a PR stunt or a genuine social cause? “That’s for every reader to decide for themselves,” say the creators.
How does the service work? The code as a number bodyguard
The principle is ingeniously simple:
The user registers on contactguard.ch with their WhatsApp number. A personal code is generated in the dashboard (e.g., “SUN123”). This code plus the ContactGuard service number (also in Swiss mobile format) is posted in personal ads, on websites, or in eBay classifieds. Interested parties text the ContactGuard number—with the code at the beginning of the message. ContactGuard’s AI checks the message for spam, fraud, or trolling. Legitimate inquiries are forwarded anonymously—the user sees only the contact information of the interested party in the WhatsApp chat. The user decides whether to reply with their real number—or not.

Here’s how it works: Messages are filtered and forwarded anonymously.
The dashboard transparently shows which messages got through and which were blocked. Users can add numbers to the block list themselves. And most importantly: Your WhatsApp number always remains secret.
AI power against scammers and spam – “at the limit of what’s feasible”
ContactGuard relies on GPT models for message analysis. The AI detects:
Spam messages (“hey send a pic pls !!!”) Scam attempts (“FREE iPhone – click here now!!!”) Trolling and dubious requests “We’re at the limit of what’s feasible with message-based detection,” say the developers. “Of course, we can’t 100% rule out the possibility that a legitimate message might have malicious intent—that might come with v2.0. But all common scamming approaches are reliably detected and filtered out.”
In addition, ContactGuard maintains its own fraud report database for the Swiss mobile network—numbers belonging to known scammers are automatically added to the blocklist.
The game-changer for sex workers: automated AI responses
This is where it gets really exciting: In higher-tier plans, the AI can not only filter messages but also automatically respond to standard inquiries.
Example: A customer asks: “When are you available?” or “How much does an hour cost?”
ContactGuard’s AI—pre-programmed by the user—can respond directly: “I’m available Monday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. An hour costs CHF 300. You can find more information on my website: …”
“Answering the same questions 30 times a day is a task that shouldn’t be underestimated,” explain the developers. “Self-employed individuals without administrative staff in particular can save a massive amount of time here.” Conversations can be tracked at any time—transparency in all directions is the credo.
Important: Personal contact is not replaced. The AI only handles recurring informational requests.
Swiss Data Protection – Hosted in Switzerland
In an era of data scandals and dark web leaks (see the recent Pornhub hack), data protection is a sensitive issue—especially for sex workers.
ContactGuard promises:
Hosting in a renowned Swiss data center. Data is processed only in anonymized form. Compliant with the new Swiss Data Protection Act (nDSG)… Available only for the Swiss mobile network. “Data protection is a top priority for us,” says the team. “We do not share data with third parties—except, of course, for anonymized processing parameters, which are provided to vetted processors listed in our privacy policy.”
Prices: starting at 1 franc per day – or try it for free
ContactGuard offers various plans:
- Trial version (free)
- 5 call forwarding numbers included
- For testing and trying out
Individual Plans Starting at CHF 4.– for 4 days (1 CHF/day). Longer terms = lower daily rates. Business Adult Service. CHF 100/month (adult industry). CHF 80/month (standard). Up to 10 codes and 10 forwarding numbers. For agencies, studios, clubs. Customized business solutions. A sales team is available for individual enterprise solutions—no-obligation and discreet.
We couldn’t offer it for free. “We also have to keep an eye on misuse of the service,” the creators emphasize. “And of course, the service isn’t free for us either. But we want to keep our prices fair—and every now and then, we’ll even accept chocolate rolls from the bakery as payment.”
Beta launch in April – live starting May 2026
ContactGuard has been online since early April 2026—still in beta. “But that should only be a short phase,” says Geissmann Webconsulting. “We plan to go live in May, but we’re also heavily dependent on Meta’s WhatsApp service.
The first testimonials from the industry are now being collected. Anyone interested can test the service for free at contactguard.ch.
Expert opinion: “Data protection in sex work is vital”
Research shows that WhatsApp privacy is a perennial topic. Meta recently introduced new protection features with “Advanced Chat Privacy” (source: Heise), but the phone number remains a critical issue.
Sex workers, in particular, are often victims of would-be clients and frequently have to change their numbers. This can sometimes have dramatic consequences:
Stalking and harassment Doxxing (publication of private data) Blackmail and sextortion Loss of privacy in everyday life “In an industry where digital censorship on Instagram and TikTok is systematically increasing while the demand for discreet services is booming, a tool like ContactGuard is more than just practical—it can be a matter of survival,” comments an industry insider.
Competition? None in sight!
Research shows: There is currently no comparable service in Switzerland offering WhatsApp encryption with AI spam protection specifically for the adult industry. Traditional encryption services, such as those found in newspaper ads, are outdated and not digitally integrated. Virtual number services offer no AI protection and no industry expertise.
ContactGuard fills a niche—and could become the standard.
Conclusion: More Than Just a Tech Tool—It’s a Matter of Attitude
ContactGuard is more than just a clever app idea. It’s a statement: “Sex workers have a right to safe, professional communication—without stigmatization, without absurd prices, without ‘no-adult’ policies.”
Whether the concept will succeed remains to be seen. The fact is: The need is there. The technology works. And the team behind Geissmann Webconsulting has over 15 years of industry experience.
We say: Thumbs up for this courage!
